The 2/4 Profile

Hermit / OpportunistNatural talent called out through relationships

2/4s are the Hermit who is called out by the network. You have natural talents you cannot fully explain — a 2nd line gift that arises from somewhere you don't have access to — and your 4th line's friendliness keeps placing you in front of people who notice and call you forward. Both lines need rest. The 2nd line needs to be left alone in their cave; the 4th line burns out on people. The art is honoring the call when it's correct (Strategy and Authority will tell you), and refusing it when it isn't.

Just sit by the river; sooner or later something will come by. This is readiness for the unknowable, whatever it may be.

2nd Line: The Hermit

Conscious — how you see yourself

The 2nd line is the Hermit — a natural standing alone in front of the first-floor window with the lights on, doing their own thing, not realizing the people outside on the street are watching. Hermits have gifts they cannot explain or even fully see in themselves. Other people call them out — and the call is correct only when their Strategy and Authority say yes. The 2nd line motto from Ra: "Just sit by the river; sooner or later something will come by."

4th Line: The Opportunist

Unconscious — how others see you

The 4th line is the Opportunist — the foundation of the second floor, where personal life crosses over into transpersonal community. Their gift is networking, friendliness, and influence through the people they already know. Quality of life for a 4th line is in direct proportion to the quality of their network. They cannot prospect cold; they need to transition from one relationship into the next, never letting go of one secure footing until the next is in place.
