3/5s are the trial-and-error universalizers. Both lines are transpersonal — the 3rd line learns the hard way and the 5th line teaches what they've learned to people they've never met. Your life looks like a string of bonds made and broken, projects tried and abandoned, until the practical wisdom you've earned starts being asked for by the world. People will project savior energy onto you because you actually do know what doesn't work — and that's the most useful thing anyone can know.
3rd Line: The Martyr
The 3rd line is the Martyr — the spiral staircase between the lower and upper floors. Their gift is discovering what does not work, by bumping into it. They're our primary catalysts of change: more interpersonally adaptable than they look, more resilient than they feel, and the fastest line to spot a real flaw or a real mutation. When operating as their true self, there is no such thing as a mistake — every bond made and broken is data.
5th Line: The Heretic
The 5th line is the Heretic — peeking out from behind the curtains of the second-story window. The Heretic carries the strongest projection field of any line: people see them as a savior, a general, a problem-solver, whether they actually are or not. The 5th line lives by reputation. When they deliver practical solutions to real problems, they're trusted; when they can't, they're burned at the stake. "Make sure whatever you do has a practical application — otherwise the reputation will follow you wherever you go." — Ra Uru Hu
